Our Team

Over 13 years we have built up a trusted team of professionals. Working with the same people for over a decade we've got to know their strengths and specialisations. From Perth to Minnesota and Kyoto to Berlin, location doesn't matter - only the quality of our translators' work. And because we are not a huge, anonymous company we maintain strict quality control over every project and every language.

In 2007 we went through a long quality management process to gain ISO 9001 certification and follow these same processes today. Blue chip clients trust us with their product manuals, technical documentation, legal contracts and press releases. If you find yourself in a translation maze, we'd be delighted to help you out.

Dr. Andreas Ernst

Born in a small Bavarian town in Germany, I studied philosophy and literature at the University of Munich before attending Harvard and Columbia University in the USA, for graduate studies. In 1997 I completed my PhD at the University of Potsdam, Berlin and started to work as a freelance translator.

Three years as an editor in book publishing followed, until moving to London to edit the German language version of investment portal www.Credit-Suisse.net.

I later moved back to being a full-time freelance translator and gained NAATI accreditation for the English-German language pair.

Being a stickler for tidy grammar and form-fitting layout has made my work at PAEN a professional dream come true. I enjoy every day of it.

Rachel Marie Ernst

Born and educated in New Zealand, I have a degree in politics and economics  and a graduate diploma in journalism. In 2012 I also completed a further graduate diploma from the London School of Economics in sustainable development, which was very inspiring.

I started my career as a newspaper journalist and editor and then worked in new media in the UK from 2000, writing investment articles for www.Credit-Suisse.net. I was then the finance editor of the Guardian Media Group site www.workthing.com in London and editor of a New Zealand glossy magazine.

Andreas and I set up the company in 2003 to pool our professional experience. 13 years later, we're still offering clients exceptional quality.
